How is Acupressure Used?
Acupressure is similar in principal to acupuncture in that it moves qi using points along channels in the body. At our clinic, we may use acupressure during an acupuncture treatment. We may also educate you about specific acupressure points that may help you continue improvements on your own between treatments.
Acupressure is performed by applying gentle to strong physical pressure with fingers, the elbow, or an instrument designed for this purpose. The pressure is focused on acupuncture points with the intention of moving qi and clearing blockages within the energy meridians resulting in the desired balances.
Acupressure can be used to treat nausea, vomiting, stomach ache, low back pain, headaches, high blood pressure, restlessness, and many other conditions that are treatable with acupuncture.
